Civilization VII Announces PC Requirements

Civilization VII will arrive next February, and you can already prepare for its release: here are the minimum, recommended, and ultra requirements to enjoy it on your PC.

Civilization VII, the game for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, has strategy fans marking their calendars for February 11, 2025.

Weโ€™re talking about a franchise with over three decades of history, six installments, and several expansions, all centered around the same goal: guiding the development of civilization from prehistory to the future.

After eight long years since Civilization VI, fans will finally be able to dive into the most ambitious entry yet. Plus, the PC requirements to fully enjoy this chapter have already been revealed.

Through its official X/Twitter, Civilization VII has unveiled the minimum, recommended, and ultra configurations for playing the game on PC.

It seems that Firaxis’ new title is aiming to leverage powerful CPUs rather than focusing heavily on graphics cards, though maxing out the gameโ€™s settings might require you to upgrade your setup.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graphic Settings: Low
  • Resolution: 1080p
  • FPS: 30
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 460 / Intel Arc A380
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Storage: 20 GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 64-Bit
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Graphic Settings: Medium
  • Resolution: 1080p
  • FPS: 60
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060 / AMD RX 6600 / Intel Arc A750
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Storage: 20 GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 64-Bit
  • DirectX: Version 12

Ultra Requirements

  • Graphic Settings: High
  • Resolution: 4K
  • FPS: 60
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-14700F / AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 / AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Storage: 20 GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 10 / 11 64-Bit
  • DirectX: Version 12

The most demanding PC version will undoubtedly be the most spectacular, but PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are also expected to perform well.
Another option is to opt for the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions, though the visual quality will likely be lower, and they wonโ€™t have the same features as their more advanced counterparts.

At the last Gamescom, Civilization VII previewed some of the gameโ€™s civilizations, starting with the Axum, Egypt, Maya, Maurya, and Rome in the Ancient Era, and Shawnee in the Age of Exploration.

In Civilization VII, players will take on the role of legendary leaders to build the wonders of civilization, conquer rival territories, and initiate an expansion that spans centuries and overcomes the worst crises.

Civilization VII will be available in both a standard version and a Founders Edition, which offers five days of early access, the “Crossroads of the World” expansion, and additional content to expand your strategic experience.
