Developer CD Projekt Red has recently shared that upcoming dystopian RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will indeed have first person cutscenes.
CD Projekt Red Confirms Cyberpunk 2077 First-Person Cutscenes
Cyberpunk 2077 the upcoming action-RPG from CD Projekt Red is set in first-person for gameplay, and according to a tweet so are the cutscenes. They confirmed that there will be “100 % first-person” point of view when it comes to cutscenes.
However, they have also stated that players will be able to see their characters not only in the inventory screens, but whilst driving, reflected in mirrors and in some of the cut-scenes as well. From the sounds of it, you will still be able to get more than a glimpse of your character roaming around the city, in one way or another.
This was confirmed by Marcin Momot the global community lead, who also shared that this choice was to benefit the “full immersion” experience:
2/2 That said, players will still be able to see their characters in the inventory screen, during driving sequences, in mirrors and, very occasionally, in some of the cut-scenes.
