In a recent Q&A, Capcom revealed their next “major” unannounced game will be released early next year.

Capcom’s “Unannounced Major” Title is Coming Before March 2024

A newly published Q&A with Capcom has revealed that they are planning to have a “major” unannounced title before March 2024. The publisher is planning to have the big game arrive before the end of the fiscal year. According to the little info known about it, it will help the company reach its end-of-year sales targets.

Time for a New Monster Hunter?

As for what possible titles it could be, the next Monster Hunter game has yet to be unveiled. Monster Hunter Rise, the last major title in the franchise has been wrapping up its last drips of content for its latest expansion Sunbreak. Capcom had its Final Digital Event back in June, also celebrating its one-year anniversary. In September the franchise teased a new website setting up the next anniversary celebrating 20 years of Monster Hunter. This would line up the anniversary and the end of the fiscal year quite nicely.

What’s next for Monster Hunter?

Monster Hunter Rise was released in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, later coming to PC, Xbox Series, PS5, Xbox One and PS4. Later the expansion Sunbreak was released in 2022 for both Switch and PC. The expansion brought a new area called Elgado, new monsters and some fan favourites including the Chaotic Gore Magala.

Monster Hunter Now took monster hunting on the go, with a mobile version. which got it’s full launch on September 14th with downloads now exceeding 5 million according to the financial report.

The 20th anniversary seems good as a time as any for new reveals. In the meantime you can explore our Monster Hunter Rise wiki for all the latest on monstersbuildsweapons and more.

Resident Evil Returns

Another major candidate for Capcom would be another entry for Resident Evil. The latest release was the Resident Evil 4 Remake which made a splash with not only its revamped graphics but equally thrilling modern updates to bosses and quality-of-life features. It recently received the Ada Wong DLC Separate Ways to complete the whole experience. RE4 sold 3 million copies in just two days.

The latest fresh entry was Resident Evil Village (or Resident Evil 8) which much like 4, takes players to a creepy village plagued with some troublesome residences. Fan favourite Lady D and the nightmare happenings were a culmination of RE’s past and new. The latest addition was the DLC Shadows of Rose which helped cap off the entire story, revisiting or re-haunting some favourite locations but this time from Rose’s perspective.

A new entry into the franchise would show off Capcom’s newest RE engine to its fullest, as it wouldn’t be limited by a remake setting or mechanics, starting completely anew. But the RE series’ remakes would promise a good return, as many enjoyed the refreshed appeal of horrors past.

What are you hoping the next major announced title should be? Or would a brand-new IP capture your interest? Let us know in the comments below. Capcom is also working on Dragon’s Dogma 2 which is another exciting sequel to look forward to after ten years after the first.
