Blue Protocol Developer Wants A Global Release

Blue Protocol so far has been announced for a Japanese release only, however according to a recent livestream held on February 27th, there is hope that it will go international. Recently it was announced Blue Protocol will be a free-to-play title, with Closed Beta Test starting in late March.

The livestream (which was summarised by Blue Protocol DB) with the developers talked about the question of whether there would be global servers. However, while they do have a global release in mind, they still needed to hire people to have an international launch and couldn’t announce anything for now. For now they have their hands full with the Japanese Closed Beta.

There were also more details revealed about the MMORPG, while the game will be free-to-play, there will be a season pass type monetisation structure and limited items which could mean purchasable cosmetics. PvP is not currently part of development but other features such as player housing, fishing and further classes post-launch are in the works. There is also an arena mode which pits players against waves of monsters.

The registration for Closed Beta for Japanese servers is already taking place, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for more news of an international launch. It’s good to know that they’re thinking of expanding Blue Protocol outside of Japan.

Blue Protocol is an online action-RPG for PC by Bandai Namco, with anime art style. If you want to check out some of the gameplay, you can watch the livestream below where they showed some of the open-world, a new dungeon which will be available in the closed beta, Dragon’s Claw and combat in action.
