Game developer Koji Igarashi has shared a new update on his upcoming spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Update
This latest update comes from the game’s Kickstarter campaign and shows off the various new weapons created, in addition to the accessories such as scarves, glasses, boots and more that Miriam, the game’s main protagonist, can equip.
All the weapons you see here are new additions. There’s a fire sword, a two-handed axe, and a few other kinds of weapons. There’s even a maid headband that’s similar to the kind you might see in Akihabara.
You can check all that out in this recent video aptly titled “Fashion Update”, down below:
Furthermore, the team has shared a new enemy called the Giant Rat, which takes inspiration medieval Europe. With Igarashi giving insight: “When I imagine medieval Europe, I can’t help but think of rats. That might be a stereotype, but we definitely had to have a rat enemy“.
At the moment, the team is hard at work on Bloodstained‘s bosses, and notes that they’re in the “crunch period” of development. If you’d like to learn more, you can check out our preview on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is planned for a release sometime in 2018 for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch platforms.
