Bloodborne To Get Game Of The Year Edition

The European Playstation Blog today announced the release of Bloodborne Game of the Year Edition on November 27th, 3 days after the release of The Old Hunters DLC expansion. The GOTY Edition will feature the base Bloodborne game along with the DLC. We are awaiting confirmation on whether the DLC will be on disc or downloadable via a code and what the pricing will be.

From the blog post:

In addition to new environments, you’ll also gain access to new outfits and weapons to bolster your beast-battling arsenal, including a fearsome new ranged weapon called Simon’s Bowblade. On top of this, The Old Hunters also offers players the ability to go native and transform into terrifying beasts.

The beast mode transformation has been subject to a lot of speculation as to how exactly this transformation will be implemented both mechanically and graphically. This statement seems to imply that the transformation is full and not mere fur springing up on appendages.

While not as fancy as the Bloodborne limited edition bundle set to release in Japan on December 3rd, it is nevertheless a good opportunity for fans new to the series to get the complete experience in one purchase, along with the now price cut PS4 for those feeling extra adventurous.

  1. Considering they’re only releasing one DLC and it’s being bundled with the game around the same time, this seems a bit silly to me.

  2. I might not even get the GOTY or what ever the newer edition of Bloodborne is going to be… Its pretty odd how they are making so many variations of the same game. I guess its like Scholar of First Sin, I only hope that we can still play with the GOTY edition people unlike Scholar of the First Sin…. :(

  3. I’m in two minds about this. On the one hand, I could get this which would allow me to put my Steelbook back into the Nightmare Edition box and keep the whole thing pristine, but on the other hand November is already a pretty expensive month for me games wise, so maybe just buying the DLC is for the best

  4. So there’s
The Old Hunters – Standalone DLC – Confirmed on all regions
The Old Hunters Limited Edition – Bundle Game + DLC = JAPAN
Bloodborne GOTY Edition – Bundle Game + DLC = Europe
US bundle = Not announced yet.

  5. I thought a release was for the 5th of Dec and was called The Old Hunters edition or something?

  6. That’s some neat artwork. I do find the addition of beasthood interesting. I honestly believe this was not done in schedule and left out of the original game, so now we finally will get to play this way… but then Yasuhiro said that the core gameplay would not change much so… which one is it? xD
