Bloodborne Dataminer Discovers Master Willem Boss Fight

Recently dataminer Lance McDonald has discovered the original intent for Master Willem was actually a boss fight.

Bloodborne Dataminer Discovers Master Willem Boss Fight

In Bloodborne you can find Master Willem, an NPC positioned sitting on a rocking chair at Moonside Lake in Byrgenwerth, an academic institute which the Healing Church originated from. While his character doesn’t do anything much out of the ordinary except loosely point you in the direction of the Rom, Vacuous Spider fight. However, once upon a time, Willem was also a boss you’d encounter.

Dataminer Lance McDonald has found many secrets in Bloodborne from unearthing the real Purpose Behind the Yharnam Stone to the horrifying multi-headed Snake Ball Boss. But his recent video concentrates on the would-be boss Master Willem.

McDonald who has ventured into an alpha version of game has found an item called “Fresh Livers” which was suppose to act as a reward for killing bosses. This item is linked in its description to Master Willem, revealing him as a former boss. Confirming this theory is an option in the debug menu, which allows the harmless NPC to be turned into a foe. But it was never used in the final version of the game and Master Willem never made it as boss.

…Eyes, eyes, where are the eyes…
…I need more, I can’t see…
…Fetch me eyes…
…Oh, faster, somebody, argh…
…Be they round, be they young…
…Fetch me eyes, for my brain…
…More eyes, I need more…

The video also revealed some cut voiced dialogue including a request for the hunter to bring Willem some eyes, and some of the moves that Willem was suppose to perform as a boss once the player fulfilled his requirement. The moves aren’t quite finished enough to see the complete boss fight, but Lance has unveiled enough to see how he would attack.

You can watch the full cut content and voice lines in the video below:
