Blizzard has revealed Sombra, the newest hero to the Overwatch roster, in a BlizzCon announcement that surprised no one. Still, they managed to reveal her via a slick animated short that you can watch below:
The Mexican infiltrator will be part of the next update on November 7th and will be available on PC first through the Public Test Realm. In the trailer we see some of her abilities in action such as a cloaking ability, warping, and hijacking enemy ultimates.
Blizzard also went on to announce the Overwatch League that will start up late 2017, as a professional city based team league. Aiming to go beyond prize pools, Blizzard is looking to fine tune the esports medium with concepts like salaries and possible college funding.
Overwatch fans can now finally get some sleep, now that the cat is out of the bag. Thoughts on the new hero and league? Sound off in the comments!

As reported, she is live today on the PTR
Some helpful info about Sombra:
~200 hp
~60 round clip
~effective range is that of soldier 76 but with more spread
~cloak gives a 1.5x speed boost. You’re completely invisible. last 6 seconds and the cool down is 6 seconds.
If you try to do anything (sans throwing your teleporter out) or take damage your cloak breaks. You’re completely invisible except when standing right close on someone. then they can see a shimmer.
~translocater (the teleporter) gives you 15 seconds to teleport back. It can’t be destroyed. 4 second cooldown that doesn’t proc until time runs out or you’ve teleported.
~Hack is a channeled ability. 1.5 seconds to fully hack something. taking any damage cancels the hack. can’t hack through shields or barriers. cool down is 10 seconds. Can’t hack through walls either. Hack removes player ability usage for 6 seconds. Allows Sombra to see someone’s health and their ult status for 20-30 seconds.
~her ultimate destroys all shields and barriers including personal shields like zenyatta’s. It’s Line of sight and the range is roughly almost as big as mei’s ult. it also hacks everyone effected. the hack behaves the sameway her hack ability does.
~Sombra’s passive lets sombra see people through walls constantly regardless of the range when they are below half health.
~hacking health packs denies enemy from using it. makes them come back 3x faster. hacked health pack lasts 1 minute. can be refreshed at 12 seconds or less.
~There is no limit to how many things she can have hacked.
~in relation to how her hack effects abilities. picture it being a mcree flashbang. That’s exactly how it treats abilities when hacked. To give an example. If mcree is hacked in his ultimate he loses his ultimate. If you hack a zarya after she’s fired her ult it doesn’t go away.
~hacking only takes away abilities that are on a button/cooldown. Meaning bastion can’t switch modes when hacked. However genji can still wall climb and double jump because those are passives.
~hanzo’s sonar arrow, widows ult, mcree’s ult, and soldier 76’s ult will all still track sombra when she is invisible.
If you’ve got a direct question on what hack would do to a certain ability feel free to ask.
EDIT: feel free to ask any question about sombra. Also I forgot to mention that allies using your hacked health packs is counted as you healing them. and sombra CAN’T hack health kits before the attacking team can leave their spawn.

Fact: There is never a health pack nearby when you need one.
This is proven science.
BOOP!
I think Sombra looks insanely fun to play. I pretty much never play offence heroes, but she could change my mind. Just gotta get used to the escapes and hacking etc.
Damn, might finally have to learn the health locations properly.

I don’t mean to be “that guy” and I really am just openly curious about the answer but…does console even have an actual eSports scene for Overwatch?
As for Sombra herself, she seems really flashy but I expect she won’t really be that big of a deal outside of being on a fully premade, coordinated team. Except for the hacking and autovision of enemies she just seems like a slightly less annoying Tracer (theoretically, of course). She has slightly less mobility but more utility. Also, none of her abilities do damage, so when you stop and think about it the ONLY way she can kill is by default shooting, which seems odd for a hero placed in the Offense category.
All in all, I’m curious to see how she’ll play out. But being a primarily Tank/Support player I likely won’t actually be using her much myself
also a hack for health packs locks out enemies from using it whilst making it respawn faster. >:T making more work for me
Lol there is a wiki page for all that: https://overwatch.wiki.fextralife.com/Sombra
200 life
3 abilities
15 secs to teleport 6secs cooldown
6 sec cool down for invisible/speed boost
60 shots uzi
12 secs for hack
OP offense character – https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/heroes/sombra/” rel=”nofollow
most likely tweak the meta. interested in the esport side but me being me thinks its only for the PC side of things >:T
