The furry mutant title is coming to next-gen consoles this September 6th and new gameplay videos have been revealed showing off the Action-RPG with its upgraded versions. The update was announced earlier this year and follows through with its free upgrade for current title owners.

Free Upgrade for PS4/Xbox One Biomutant Owners

For those who already own the PS4 or Xbox One versions of Biomutant, they can also gain a free upgrade to the new version for free (on their respective consoles). More good news is that all saves will carry over as well as trophies/achievements, so you can pick up where you left off now with higher graphics on your PS5/Xbox Series.

PS5/Xbox Series Gameplay

The footage for the PS5 version running natively on the system promising much faster loadings times, HDR as well as DualSense and Activity Card support. The gameplay looks rather smooth and nicely enhanced with the console capabilities. There are three modes available in-game offering the following resolutions:

PS5 Resolution Modes:

  • Quality Mode: Native 4K (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 30 FPS
  • Performance Mode: Native 1440p (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 60 FPS
  • Quality Unleashed: Native 4K (with Dynamic Resolution) @ up to 60 FPS

As for Xbox Series X the details are similar to it’s Playstation counterpart. The Xbox Series X version offers better loading times, HDR support and the same resolution modes. The gameplay also looks flawless, with every detail you’d expect.

Xbox Series X Resolution Modes:

  • Quality Mode: Native 4K (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 30 FPS
  • Performance Mode: Native 1440p (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 60 FPS
  • Quality Unleashed: Native 4K (with Dynamic Resolution) @ up to 60 FPS

The Xbox Series S understandably gets a few different sets of details as it’s the lightweight of the bunch. It still promises HDR support and better load times but the graphical side slightly differs:

Xbox Series S Resolution Modes:

  • Quality Mode: Native 1440p (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 30 FPS
  • Performance Mode: Native 1080p (with Dynamic Resolution) @ stable 60 FPS
  • Quality Unleashed: Native 1440p (with Dynamic Resolution) @ up to 60 FPS
