Last night at their imaginatively themed Bethesdaland complete with rides, games and festival food, an actual game conference occured, in which Bethesda revealed their upcoming plans for their big titles. Here is a recap of everything they revealed and announced.
Fallout 4 VR & Doom VR
We knew that Bethesda was looking at the potential of VR, and their existing game library certainly lends itself to the immersive gaming that VR captures. With Fallout 4 VR and Doom VR announced, we have 2 complimentary experiences that will allow players the wasteland roleplaying of Fallout or the frenetic demon killing of Doom.
The Elder Scrolls Online
2 new DLC packs are coming for the Elder Scrolls Online, Horns of the Reach and Clockwork City. Horns of the Reach is coming this August and will introduce 2 new dungeons: Bloodroot Forge and Falkreath Hold and will also add new items, monster masks and achievements. Less is known about Clockwork city, but it will include 10+ hours of new content that revolve around repelling Daedric forces and preventing disaster.
Creation Club
The mod scene for Bethesda’s family of games is thriving and the Creation Club will allow Bethesda and other 3rd party developers to create mods for these games in exchange for credits (money). This will be interesting to see how this system will work and how fans will respond to it, but if big 3rd party developers can come in and create some outstanding content it may have legs.
Skyrim Coming to the Switch
Well we knew this was coming. So now it’s official and you’ll be able to dress up as Link. Skyrim on the go. Who’s ready to buy it for the 5th time?
The Elder Scrolls Legends Heroes of Skyrim
The free to play card game is getting a new expansion called Heroes of Skyrim that will launch on June 29th. It will add 150 new cards to the game and introduce new mechanics like Shouts as well as familiar heroes. Other new features like in-game tournaments and a Chaos Arena and coming when the game launches on iPhone and Android phones.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
Coming out this September, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a standalone title that will give fans another chance to immerse themselves in the world.
The Evil Within 2
This was a longer reveal look, with an emotional story backdrop followed by some horrifying scenes of the evil that will be faced. Nightmares will be had for sure.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Coming this October, the next Wolfenstein game brings back some of the cast of characters from the first game as they continue their resistance efforts.
With that, the reveals came to an end and the carnival festivities continued into the evening. Check out some shots of the different attracions and diversions at the venue:
It waas quite the party! Thoughts on the conference and its announcements? Sound off in the comments!

Sums up my thoughts. Bethesda has already proven they are incapable of doing anything useful with mods, seeing as PC users still use the Nexus, and console owners constantly complain about the official Bethesda mod site.

Sounds like Steam’s Steam greenlight to me. I hope it won’t be as crap in Quality control.
Yep, this is not Paid Mods 2.0. Rather, it almost like they’re subcontracting out micro-transaction development. Everything has to be made for the Creation Club specifically, and even after you get accepted into the program you still have to submit a proposal. It will be interesting to see how this system works.
There’s a mixed look at Bethesda’s creation club. At first I thought, like a lot of other people, that it was them trying to sell mods again, but after reading into it more, they say that all regular modding is still free, as the club involves more professionally made mods, created with more involvement from Bethesda (and possibly better dev tools), so that’s why you pay for it.
Already applied for the Creation Club. No idea if I’ll get a follow-up or when, since I’m sure they got swamped last night.
Also, super stoked for Wolfenstein 2. I loved the reboot, liked (but not loved) Old Blood, so I’m definitely ready for more
