Bandai Namco Announces Gamescom 2019 Lineup with No Elden Ring

Bandai Namco Entertainement Europe have released a press release featuring their lineup for this year’s Gamescom with no Elden Ring.

Bandai Namco Announces Gamescom 2019 Lineup with No Elden Ring

Gamescom 2019 will be taking place this August with Bandai Namco attending. Their lineup has been announced which includes upcoming action-RPG Code Vein. But you might notice one big absence from this list and it’s the highly anticipated fantasy RPG, a collaboration between FromSoftware Director Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, Elden Ring.

If you somehow missed the announcement of Elden Ring and need a quick catch up. Elden Ring is a brand new IP to be published by Bandai Namco, which is being developed by FromSoftware under director Hidetaka Miyzaki. They have also joined forces with Song of Fire and Ice author George R.R. Martin.

This title set off a lot of buzz even before it was officially announced at E3 2019, having leaks coming out just before press conference. Set to be a fantasy title which brings it’s own lore developed by Martin, but the open-world story follows Miyazaki’s vision following the mysterious destroyed ring with the events that follow, and third-person exploration which includes riding on horseback.

So far we’ve had no confirmation for the release date of Elden Ring, but the game is already available to pre-order on the Bandai Namco website and a few other retailers.

Bandai Namco Gamescom 2019 Lineup

Below you will find the lineup for this year’s Gamescom which includes the anime souls-like Code Vein. There is also the narrative driven horror Man of Medan:

  • Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
  • Code Vein
  • One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4
  • The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan
  • One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows
  • Rad
  • Disney Tsum Tsum

What this means for Elden Ring

We have previously explored when the release of Elden Ring may happen, predicting it will be late next year 2020 instead of the usual March or April. The fact that Bandai have not listed Elden Ring among their showcase, could mean that they are not at the stage to show more of this title.

Gamescom is the second major event happening before 2020, with two other happenings later this year which include the Tokyo Game Show 2019 in September and The Game Awards in December.

Looks like we will have to wait for TGS 2019 this year for more info or news on Elden Ring. In the meantime you can check out Elden Ring wiki for all the latest information. You can also get a rundown in Everything We Know About Elden Ring: Release Date, Action RPG, Souls-Like, Open World.
