It was last year when we heard there were plans for the classic RPG Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 was coming to PC. In their latest tweet, developer Black Isle Studios has now confirmed that it will be releasing on PC in 2022.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 was released originally on PS2 and Xbox in 2004, which is three years after the prequel. The developer had been teasing that the sequel would be coming sooner than we thought, now announcing its happening this year.

The prequel Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance had a re-released last year, coming with 4K support, backwards compatibility and two-player couch co-op, but no added features. Follow-up tweets have confirmed its coming to both PC and consoles, also confirming Switch as well.

So far no exact release date has been announced, but hopefully the release is not too far off.

  1. Unfortunately DA2’s plot ended on a cliffhanger that will, presumably, never be resolved. Also the visuals on the first DA haven’t exactly aged well, and there was zero effort put forth to updating them. I presume DA2 will get the same treatment.
