Larian Studios, the developer of Baldur’s Gate 3, seems to be gearing up for a big announcement about the game’s Xbox and physical disc versions. The developer celebrated their numerous nominations for the upcoming The Game Awards 2023, also teasing that there could be some news about the Xbox Series and physical versions of the game. The tweet shared “Xbox fans, and fans of physical media, watch this space for a formal announcement. It’s going to be a busy week.” While it wasn’t explicitly spelled out it does seem that the release date for the platform is incoming. In case you missed it, the Xbox version has been facing some issues due to its split-screen co-op. Larian Studios has been keeping Xbox fans updated by sharing that the version will still be coming in 2023 and has already been playtested.

There’s also a recent rumour that there might be a further new mode coming to BG3 which popped up on an achievement list. The ‘Honour Mode’ has yet to be confirmed by Larian but could be similar to the one that appeared in Divinity Original Sin 2.

As for what’s next after BG3 Swen Vincke isn’t quite ready to reveal the next major game but has in the past teased that the project has already been put in motion.
