Baldur’s Gate 3 Named GOTY at The Game Awards 2023

The CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3 has been officially titled Game of the Year 2023 at the The Game Awards, among many of its wins.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Named GOTY at The Game Awards 2023

Larian Studios is not short of awards this season as they gained another six awards for their CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3. Sven Vincke will need to make more room on his shelf (or game awards room which it’s probably becoming at this point) as the studio collects a few more. Most notably the game was crowned Game of the Year 2023, which beat contenders Alan Wake 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. They also won the categories: Best Performance (Neil Newbon for Astarion), Best Community Support, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, and took home the Player’s Voice vote.

Baldur’s Gate out on Xbox Series X|S

That’s not the only good news, as they also announced via X that the game is finally available on Xbox Series X|S. While it was no surprise we’d be getting a release date reveal at TGA 2023 which was announced to be arriving in December, it’s great to see the game make its way to the console after a long road. Larian also previously announced a Physical Deluxe Edition which you can pre-order for early 2024, which is not a limited edition so don’t panic if you can’t get it yet.

The game also had some astonishing stats revealed this week, with over 1.3 million players now having completed the game. The title also received a big update 5.1 which included the new Honour Mode adding some permadeath challenge, new epilogue scenes and more.
