If you’ve been wondering just how many hours you should set aside for the upcoming full launch of Baldur’s Gate 3. This could give you a good estimate of how long it will take to playthrough. Be prepared to spend roughly 75 to 100 hours for a playthrough according to Larian studio’s boss Swen Vincke. In a recent interview with IGN last week, he shared some insight into how much time it will take to run through the game.

All Types of Players

Of course, there are all types of players when it comes to the CRPG. Those who want to run through the game and those who must complete everything. According to Vincke if you are the latter, you may have to put in a good 200 hours if you want to “do everything”. Baldur’s Gate 3 will be a sizeable game content-wise. Player experience may vary as some may prefer to schedule regular multiplayer sessions with friends which could mean their playthrough might span over the course of the year. He compared it to playing a D&D campaign.

BG3 is split into different Acts, with the first act available currently in early access. Once the game launches on August 3rd for PC, there will be much more content to go through. We recently covered what we can expect from the launch in terms of classes, races, companions and more. The title will boast over 600 spells, which is quite a wide variety.

Depending on your playstyle you could be playing anywhere between 75 to over 200 hours in Baldur’s Gate 3.

More details are expected to be released during Baldur’s Gate 3’s Panel from Hell which is happening on July 7th. A last in-depth preview before the launch of the game.

Replayability & Drop-In/Drop-Out Multiplayer

So to say this will be a BIG adventure is an understatement. When it comes to the game’s “enormous replayability” there is so much players can do on new playthroughs, especially when it comes to re-rolling according to Vincke. As the adventure could span months, so it’s a good thing the game has a “drop-in/drop-out multiplayer” feature.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be leaving early access on PC on August 3rd. It will later launch on Playstation 5 on September 6th.
