The Action-RPG revealed during Opening Night Live has been given a launch date, releasing this May.

Developer behind titles such as the sci-fi soulslikes The Surge 2 and the upcoming dark fantasy RPG The Lords of the Fallen Deck13 have unveiled the launch date for Atlas Fallen. The game which was debuted during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live will be released on May 16th for PC and consoles.

The game’s cinematic trailer teased Destiny-type combat and mighty sand beasts that players will hunt down. The trailer garnered a whopping 2.4 million views on Youtube. The Action-RPG hasn’t had many details since, but this latest update will surely bring about more news in the months leading up to its release. A recent tweet teases that new gameplay footage will be coming soon.

The announcement comes quite as a surprise since we haven’t seen much else the game since its initial annoucement. But what we do know is that it will cost $59.99 for the base game. The official Steam page describes “devasting sand-powered abilities” which means this will be based in a desert setting.

Atlas isn’t the only RPG that’s currently in development. Deck13 are also expected to launch the rebooted title The Lords of the Fallen which also received a reveal trailer at Gamescom.

Publisher Focus Entertainment did drop some new screenshots featuring the combat taking place in the arid desert.

Atlas Fallen will be released on May 16th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
