Alone In The Dark Switches to January 2024 Launch

Alone in the Dark will no longer be launching in the spooky month of October. Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive will now be releasing the survival horror remake on January 16th 2024.

Originally slated for October 25th, the game will now be pushed to next year to avoid the already growing busy month. October has a stack of major launches including the anticipated sequel Alan Wake 2 and heavy hitter Spider-Man 2.

The game already released a demo which gives a short prologue for both consoles and PC. But it seems we’ll be waiting a few more months before we can explore the creepy mansion as one of the two main characters. In this rendition of Alone in the Dark, the story follows the disappearance of Jeremy Hartwood. Drawn to the last place he was seen, two characters the niece of missing uncle Emily (voice acted by Jodie Comer) and the private investigator Edward Carnby (voice acted by Stranger Things actor David Harbour) try to figure out what happened.

You will need to play at least twice through in order to discover the full story, as both characters have different points of view to portray.

What To Play This October

Threat not as there are still some stellar titles for the eerie time of year. As previously mentioned Alan Wake 2 will provide new tales of the deep returning to Bright Falls. A whole new character gets introduced, tracking down the missing writer.

Alone in the Dark is delayed to 2024 but you can still play the prologue demo

More souls-like goodness is underway with Lords of the Fallen, fighting in two different planes of existence across a dark fantasy world. Then there’s the turn-based tactical RPG The Lamplighters League where you’ll put together a band of misfits to explore some ancient archaeological secrets with real-time infiltration. If you’re looking for a major PS5 exclusive to sink your teeth into Spider-Man 2 will be coming also this month.

While it’s understandable that you might have a stacked October, you can still check out the Alone in the Dark demo if you want a peek at the horrors that await. If you like investigating occult mysteries, with a hint of danger…or maybe a lot of danger don’t miss out on the demo. Playing through it earlier this year it’s a fresh take on the 1992 game of the same name. Expect puzzling happenings and lurking terrors to befall you.
