Square Enix shared that upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a one year timed exclusive for Playstation 4.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Be A One Year Timed Playstation 4 Exclusive

Back in 2015 Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced, it was revealed it would be coming to Playstation 4 first. Earlier this year in July, Square Enix announced there were “no plans for other platforms” which made it appear that it may be an exclusive for PS4. However, now there is news that while FF7 Remake is coming to Playstation first, it will be a 1 year timed exclusive releasing on March 3rd 2020.

Box art was shared back in September which resembled the artwork of the original release on the Playstation 1. The latest box art now adds a disclaimer on the cover saying this is an exclusive to Playstation 4 until March 3rd 2021. This is one year of exclusive access to PS before it will be made available on other platforms. While this does outline when the exclusivity is up, it does not confirm other platform versions will release a year from the release date.

It will be interesting to see how Final Fantasy VII Remake will do on other platforms such as Xbox One. Also how it will do on future console generations including PS5 and Project Scarlett.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will release on March 3rd 2020 for Playstation 4, exclusively for the first year.
