Biomutant

This Action RPG by THQ Nordic and newly formed developer Experiment 101, a team that’s composed of ex-Just Cause and ex-Mad Maxwas announced this week. The game follows what looks to be a raccoon, yes raccoon, through a rich open-world fantasy. The combat blends melee, shooter, and the mutant abilities of your customizable furry protagonist. The game also features a morality system that boils into a Yin and Yang type meter that tracks your level of goodness vs. evilness. BioMutant is currently in development for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will retail for $59.99 USD and has a slated release date for early 2018. You can read more here.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

Larian Studios sat down with Twitch during Gamescom 2017 for a livestream of upcoming Divinity: Original Sin 2. Starting at 20 hours into the game, the video features some basic information on party, mechanics, and some new tidbits. Tyranny

The CRPG Tyranny from Paradox Interactive and Obsidian Entertainment will be getting a new expansion called Bastard’s WoundBastard’s Wound will come with an entirely new region of the game, along with new quests and many new folks to meet, murder, befriend, and betray. If you’ve been itching to learn more about your trio of companions, this expansion will also provide new companion quests that are specific to each character. Tyranny: Bastard’s Wound is due out for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems on September 7 at a retail price of $14.99 USD.

Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC in early 2018, and revealed several surprising details of the upcoming FFXV windows venture. This version of the game will feature native 4K textures (3840 x 2160) and it can be configured to support up to 8K resolution and supports HDR10 as well! 8k…may we be granted eyes so that we can see

But it doesn’t end there, they also announced that Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, an upcoming game for the iOSAndroid, and Windows 10 devices and is coming this fall 2017. The mobile game is a retelling of the Final Fantasy XV story featuring the main characters in a chibi art style and a revamped battle system for optimized touch controls on smartphones. The main story is told through 10 episodes, which will all be available at launch. The first episode will be available for free while the rest will be treated as in-app purchases. You can check out the trailer on the Blog.

Monster Hunter World

YouTuber Arekkz Gaming recently sat down with Monster Hunter: World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yuya Tokuda at Gamescom 2017, where the two revealed additional details about the highly anticipated game. Things that were revealed include: Size of the world, quest rank structure, Co Op, temporary monster companions and more. Bow, Lance, Sword or Machine Gun? Dibs!

Immortal: Unchained

Toadman Interactive, a Swedish developer, has announced their upcoming game: a Dark Souls-inspired, Sci-Fi Third-Person Shooter/Action-RPG hybrid titled: Immortal: UnchainedImmortal: Unchained is set in a “crazy futuristic fantasy world”, that is collapsing amidst a cosmic event. You are a living weapon, and your task is to bring an end to this cataclysm. Immortal: Unchained’s Cosmos consists of many worlds, some of which you will visit in the game. All worlds are connected via a complex network knows as the Stream, akin to ‘The Nexus‘ within Demon’s Souls. Immortal: Unchained is currently in development for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, set to release sometime during Q2 2018.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

New information from Gamescom 2017 on the upcoming JRPG: Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom reveals some new details and expands on the new features. One such feature is the new Kingdom Building Mode, which finely complements the adventures of Evan, a young king and the games main protagonist. The new “Kingdom Building” game mode will allow you to expand your territories. This can be accomplished by completing quests that can bring in characters such as a Smith, who’ll settle down in your growing empire to support your cause, which then brings upgrades to your armory, and a boat builder who can grant you a naval fleet to name a few. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom launches on PS4 and PC on January 19th, 2018.

Absolver

The melee-combat focused action RPG from Sloclap released a new video this week showcasing the first 24 mins of the game. On the fence about the game, or just want more information, give the video a view and see what you think. Absolver releases in just 2 days, so you better hurry up and decide…

Dark Souls 3

From Software released a new patch for the flagship of their franchise Dark Souls 3 this week, App Ver 1.15 and Regulation Ver 1.35. This patched addressed the following:

  • Fixed a problem that allowed invading hosts mid-boss battle by performing specific operations
  • Change of name and description of magic “Pestilent mercury

Shenmue III

Beloved Japanese game Shenmue returned to the forefront of gaming with an amazing Kickstarter run for Shenmue III. Ys Net has revealed a teaser trailer in honor of Gamescom to get players more pumped for the game. Shenmue III is due out for PlayStation 4 and PC in the second half of 2018.

Dauntless

Phoenix Labs’ upcoming free to play game Dauntless is now in Founder’s Alpha: accessible to anyone who has supported the game with a Founder’s Pack. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

Dengeki Online posted an eight-minute gameplay footage of Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet this weekBandai Namco and Dimps’ newly announced third-person shooter RPG is set in the fictional Gun Gale Online virtual reality MMORPG from the second season of the anime: Sword Art Online. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in early 2018.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

This past week, game-focused art gallery Cook & Becker announced its latest series, which explores The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, with concept art featuring everything from elaborate elven temples to snowy mountain conflicts. It’s the gallery’s second collection as part of its partnership with publisher Bethesda; back in February Cook & Becker released a series of “museum grade” prints based on the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4. The prints vary in price quite a bit, depending on size and framing options, but you can check out the site to snag a piece for yourself.

Etrian Odyssey V

Atlus released a new trailer for Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, showcasing the “Masurao” class. Etrian Oddisy is a dungeon crawler RPG series set that has been running for 10 years. Among the addictive elements of the title are the many races, classes and character customization options presented to players. If you missed it, previous trailers introduced the WarlockFencer and Dragoon classes. Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth is available now for 3DS in Japan, and will launch in the Americas on October 17 and Europe this fall.

Black Desert Online

Pearl Abyss developer of MMORPG: Black Desert Online  announced with a press release that the Xbox One version of the game will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2017! To make things more interesting, the game will be available on Xbox One X, and it will run in native 4K resolutionBlack Desert Online has been purchased by over 1.5 million in North America and Europe for PC. It will release for Xbox One in early 2018. Looking for a new MMO on console? This could be the one for you.
