The newest expansion for the Elder Scrolls Online, Shadows of the Hist is now available for PC and MAC players. PS4 and Xbox One players will gain access to the content on August 16th. In conjunction with the expansion Update 11’s base game patch is also available for all players.

Shadows of the Hist Details

Shadows of the Hist adds 2 new Dungeons for players to tackle with friends that feature 3 new item sets, new achievements with an appearance reward and a new monster mask set. The dungeons scale to the level of the group leader, can be entered at any level and can be queued up via the Group/Activity Finder starting at level 10. The new dungeons in more detail are as follows:

Cradle of Shadows

• Join the Argonians of the Dark Brotherhood in their battle against a cadre of rogue assassins threatening to hurl all of Black Marsh into bloody chaos. Fight your way through the Cradle of Shadows to uncover the secrets of the twisted Silken Ring! Cradle of Shadows is a 4-player group dungeon featuring both Normal and Veteran modes. Can you defeat its boss and claim its head as a new monster mask?

Ruins of Mazzatun

• Venture into Mazzatun, the “Puzzle City” of the Argonian Xit-Xaht tribe. The tribe has been forcing other lizardfolk to work as slave labor on a twisted project that is slowly driving them insane. Overcome the slavelords and free their helpless victims before it’s too late! Ruins of Mazzatun is a 4-player group dungeon with a Normal and a Veteran modes and valuable rewards, including a new monster mask.

Update 11 Base Game Patch Details

Everyone who owns ESO gains access to the new base game patch, regardless if they purchase the new expansion or not. This update features quite a few new features and improvements to the base game. Here are the highlights:

• Aetherian Archive and Hel Ra Citadel Trial improvements, including Normal and Veteran modes, revamped rewards, and level scaling
• Dragonstar Arena improvements, including increased monster difficulty and revamped rewards
• The ability to trade bind-on-pickup items to group members in dungeons and Trials
• The introduction of the Cyrodiil town capture system
• Costume Dyeing (exclusive to ESO Plus members)
• Dye Stamps (Crown Store)
• Style Parlor (Crown Store)
• Champion Point cap increase, from 501 to 531
• Rebalancing and adjustments to Racial Passive abilities
• Improved rewards from Undaunted reward chests (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)
• Improved Clothier Surveys
• New achievements for completing Hel Ra Citadel and Aetherian Archive at Champion 160
• Ability tooltip tags that display the primary role for certain abilities
• Ongoing Cyrodiil performance improvements
• 17 updated item sets that now drop at Champion 160
  • Six available in Aetherian Archive
  • Seven available in Hel Ra Citadel
  • Four available in Dragonstar Arena
• Four new crafting styles: Order of the Hour, Dark Brotherhood, dro-m’Athra, and Minotaur

ESO Plus members get immediate access to Shadows of the Hist at no extra cost, non subscribers can purchase it via the Crown Store for 1500 crowns. A collector’s bundle with a Hist Guar mount, Haj Mota Hatchling pet and experience scrolls is available for 2500 crowns. The mount and pet can also be purchased separately from the crown store.

Accessing Shadows of the Hist

Once you’ve purchased/downloaded the new content, you can access either of the new dungeons via the following steps:

• Go to the Group & Activity Finder and select “Specific Dungeons” in the Dungeon Finder. Select Cradle of Shadows or Ruins of Mazzatun from the list, then join the queue.
• Walk up to the dungeon entrances in Shadowfen if you are playing an Ebonheart Pact character of any level, or an Aldmeri Dominion or Daggerfall Covenant character that is level 50 (by way of the Silver and Gold versions of Shadowfen.)
• Click on the Point of Interest map icon for each dungeon, regardless of your character’s alliance.
