Salt & Sanctuary now working on PS Vita

Many Playstation Vita and Salt and Sanctuary fans will be delighted to hear that there finally is some progress regarding the 2D action RPG game coming to the portable console.

Originally announced as a PS4/PC/Vita game, Salt and Sanctuary promised to keep players entertained at home and on the go. Unfortunately, due to a third party studio port requirement for Vita development, there have been lengthy delays in delivering to portable.

As of PSX 2016, we now have official confirmation that the game is working on Playstation Vita, which is progress in the right direction towards launch on the platform hopefully in Q1 2017.

The developer Ska Studios shared the following

We hope to be able to say soon when Salt and Sanctuary will be available on your PlayStation Vita handheld device, though we won’t know just yet. In the meantime, check it out at PSX! Hope to see you there!

Additionally, the official twitter account for Yasuhiro Kitao of Sony Japan’s PR team, shared the following:

We are very excited to see one of our favorite souls-like games coming to a portable platform soon. If you haven’t tried it yet, read our Salt and Sanctuary Review and learn more about it. Or visit the Salt and Sanctuary Official Wiki to see details of game mechanics and gear.

  1. While it’s true that Pokemon will be a nice cushion for the Switch to land on, it’s success as a system will rely on a bit more than that.

The Switch has an upcoming Pokemon game for it, of course it’ll pan out. It’s just a monstrously overpowered 3DS that can play Skyrim, really.

  3. The devs should really consider bringing this game to the Nintendo Switch. I’d be willing to repurchase it if the Switch pans out. Games like this and Eitr seem perfect for portable gaming because I don’t feel like I would be losing much going from the big screen to the little. Unfortunately, it’s too little too late for bringing this to the Vita in my case. Among other reasons, I got rid of mine because I got tired of waiting for this game and other similar titles to get released for it.
