The first piece of DLC for PS4 exclusive Nioh, Dragon of the North is now available for players on the Playstation Store. The new DLC brings with new missions, enemies, bosses, guardian spirits and more in a story that explores more figures from historical Japan.
Dragon of the North will take place in the Oshu region and introduce the ambitious ruler, Masamune Date, also known as the “One-Eyed Dragon”. Just when you thought that peace was finally restored in Japan, we’ve now begun to hear troubling rumors that the One-Eyed Dragon is secretly gathering spirit stones, setting a stage for more unrest and mayhem to take hold.
In addition, today’s DLC release was also accompanied by a free patch for everyone that brought most notably with it the game’s PvP mode which can be accessed via the Torii gate. The patch brought the following, among others:
- Added Dragon of the North content
- Added PvP mode
- Expanded functionality
- Adjusted game balance
- Various bug fixes
- New skins for the female NPCs
- Ability to equip 2 guardian spirits (the second one equipped will give passive benefits, and you can alternate the primary at will)
Additionally not listed in the english notes were a variety of changes to the base game such as changed amrita costs for leveling. For the full list of changes see the Patches page on the wiki!
The DLC can be bought on its own for 9.99 USD or obtained as part of the game’s 24.99 USD season pass. Settling down for some PvP and some new samurai goodness? Let us know what you think of the new content in the comments!
