To sweeten the deal for players looking to ramp up to the game’s release Mass Effect 2 and 3 are now playable on Xbox One thanks to a workaround for multi-disc games on the console.

Loyalty Missions Returning

As part of Game Informer’s December cover story, we also now know that the popular loyalty missions from Mass Effect 2 will also be making an appearance in Mass Effect Andromeda. Each companion had one of these story focused quests, and they gave players a chance to learn about their squadmates’ history and motivations, and made for some compelling emotional moments. Additionally there will be quests that cover the history of the Ryder family, who are the brother/sister main protagonists of the game.

  1. I want the Dragon Age Inquisition armor system where the armor aesthetic matched the characters when you equipped it. Also having more weapon damage from armor just seems so silly to me. Why can’t we just mod our guns, like we already could in two of the three games? I like the armor providing stats like an actual RPG. I like it being armor. I also liked having the biotic amp and omnitool as equipment. If they allowed more customization for those items we could add depth to how we approach any given build. But EA is insistent on watering it down and making it more of a third person shooter that is strictly worse than other third person shooters instead of an RPG.

  2. You mean the fact that they moved away from the basic protection stats (vs physical damage, biotics, etc)? Point taken, but I don’t see that as such a big deal. I have no issue with armour pieces that can instead improve things like weapon damage or ammo capacity because the technology in the MEU could feasibly allow for that. It also allows for a tradeoff between protection and damage output. I would like to see interchangeable biotic amps and omni-tools again tho.

I think ME3 still addressed one of the biggest problems with armour in ME2, which was that your squadmates just ran around in catsuits. At least most of the ME3 armour looked like armour.

  3. My issue was that armor wasn’t armor but a vessel for completely unrelated stats. Also you’re forgetting armor was modular in that too having the biotic amp and two slots for an upgrade. They could have improved upon that instead of adding in yet another change that removed it’s original RPG elements.

  4. I read on another forum (I think it was taken from the Game Informer article) that the helmet, shoulders, arms, torso and legs will all be separately customisable. I’d much prefer that to the ridiculous level I-X versions of the same armour from ME1.

  5. The initiative video was a better trailer than the actual trailer….

Also it looks like we’re getting the crappy ME2 and ME3 armor system by the looks of the preorder bonuses…

  6. The new Initiative info on mission launch date and the story behind the arks has been a nice reveal in my opinion.

  7. So basically the only thing new we learned from N7 day is that there will be more loyalty missions, yet another disappointing N7 day. Also can Bioware stop with the human centralism in the ME series we already had enough of that in the trilogy it doesn’t need anymore in ME:A.
