Man Behind Geralt Talks Cyberpunk 2077!

The voice behind Geralt of Rivia from CD Projekt’s The Witcher  franchise, Doug Cockle has chimed in on the probability of a fourth Witcher game as well as on the development of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Geralt Lending Voice?

During a panel at EGX 2017 in the UK, Cockle mentions that he is unaware of any project pertaining to a new Witcher installment, at least to his knowledge.

The VA goes on to affirm what we already know so far, that CD Projekt is mostly preoccupied with the development of Cyberpunk 2077.

“I know nothing about The Witcher 4,”  said Cockle. “I know they’re very much focusing on Cyberpunk.”

Taking that into account and Geralt’s reminiscience in the celebration of The Witcher‘s  10th Anniversary, it’s safe to assume that the franchise, at least for now has truly come to a close.

Cockle has worked with CD Projekt two years prior to the release of the original Witcher game and remarks his time with them.

“What I have discussed is the idea of me being involved somehow,”  said Cockle in regards to Cyberpunk 2077. “Whether that’s a major part or just an easter egg. I hope so, I really enjoy working with them. But I haven’t had significant contact. We have jokingly talked about it.”

In the video below, at 02:39 minutes in. we see Ciri describe a distant world that seems oddly similar to a setting much like that of Cyberpunk 2077:

Cockle, who has recently gone back to acting full-time, lent his voice to various titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn,  Spellforce 3,  Victor Vran  and Augmented Empire  throughout his decades-long career.

“It’s really cool to be part of something that’s that long,”  said Cockle of The Witcher series. “Something where you get to go back to the character over time, as the writers give him more of a life, more emotional situations. It has been a great experience.”

Cockle then jokingly comments about some of the more challenging experiences he has had while working on The Witcher  franchise.

“It’s a bit like being caught masturbating by your mom. But it’s kind of fun. It can be really challenging, you’re naturally embarrassed. You’re having to show whoever’s in the booth that side of your personality.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt  is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. While the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game will support 4K resolution.

In the last piece of rare news on Cyberpunk 2077,  a recent leak revealed details of the games world scale and provided a brief description on its gameplay.
