Because it needed to be made. Basically here for all small talk and discussion about the game thing.

By the way, Denied, requesting slight change. Rather than an avalanche, why not have it be a small volcano that they fled from. (Up to you.)

Also, do you want to make any connection between the sand wyrms and the Snaxit? Like an evolutionary connection between them?

Why not make it as convoluted as possible, giving plenty of plot opportunities.

A nearby Volcano erupted causing a localized earthquake which in turn cause a Landslide. This leaves room for a Tsunami in case there was an island race to be discovered.

If The Sand Wyrms are connected to the Snaxit Let's make it a really distant common ancestor.
