Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age released this week for the PS4 and is a remaster and in some ways overhaul of the classic PS2 game. One of the new features is that players can now earn trophies for playing the game! In this Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age trophy guide you will find all 41 of the trophies and their descriptions, along with tips on how to earn them. This will be a living guide that will evolve as new methods and best practices are discovered.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Champion of Ivalice

Collected all other trophies.

Collect every trophy in the game to earn the coveted platinum!

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Assault Striker

Used Attack 300 times.

This is a self-explanatory activity trophy that will pop for you as you play through the game. In this instance just be sure to use that attack!

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Spellslinger

Cast Magicka 200 times.

This is an activity trophy that will pop for you as you play through the game. In this instance just be sure to cast Magicka as you play.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Premier Prestidigitator

Used Technicks 100 times.

This is an activity trophy that will pop for you as you play through the game. In this instance just be sure to use your Technicks while you’re playing.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Master Thief

Successfully stole 50 times.

This is an activity trophy that will pop for you as you play through the game. In this instance you will have to successfully use the Steal Skill 50 times. The skill is available to the Machinist, Archer and Red Battlemage jobs.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Blood Dancer

Defeated 500 foes.

This is an activity trophy that will pop for you as you play through the game. In this instance just defeat 500 enemies in combat, which won’t take very long to trigger.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide The Unrelenting

Completed a 50-chain in battle.

In this instance you will have to put together a 50-chain while in battle. The player can build a chain by killing enemies of the same species. As you progressively kill enemies of the same species, the chain grows shown as a number above the party’s ATB and HP bars in the lower-right of the screen. The enemies you chain, the more likely they will drop rare and multiple items. A chain is broken when an enemy of a different species is killed, you touch a Save Crystal or you enter a town (when Vaan is in control). Boarding the Strahl does not break the chain. You can tackle this trophy the easy way and just keep the chain going against low level and plentiful baddies or you can get creative for end game and maintain the chain to farm high level enemies that don’t spawn in large numbers.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Wayfarer

Took 50,000 steps.

Just keep on walking.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Plunderer

Acquired 100,000 gil.

This will take a little longer as you will have to earn gil through playing through the game and selling loot, but if you are diligent in your questing it won’t be long before you’ve earned enough to trigger the trophy. You can do some early farming in Golmore Jungle to sell panther pelts and later you can take on King Bomb in Nabradia. If you use Steal while fighting him you can nab bomb shells which you can sell in Rabanastre for 25K gil. Later you can farm Dustias in Corridor of Sand in the Westersand. They appear when one of your party members has less than 10% health left.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Record Breaker

Obtained 500,000 Clan Points.

This trophy has some possible bugs – but if the trophy does not pop you can quit mid-fight and reload. To achieve it, simply lower the health of the Shadow Clone that Diablo spawns against you, and once it’s almost out of health summon your own clone via Simulacrum, making sure it lands the killing blow..

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Spendthrift

Spent 1,000,000 gil.

Spending 1,000,000 gil is a tall order, because you must first obtain that much gil in the first place. Spending is all about earning and if you follow the steps above for earning gil you can do so and then head to vendors or the item bazaar and exchange all that gil for loot.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Privateer

Sold 1,000 pieces of loot.

This trophy can be had by working in conjunction with your efforts to earn and spend gil for the trophies. All the drops from farming panthers, dustias and King Bomb among others will eventually add up. Selling all of this loot earns you the gil you need, which you can then spend to pop all three trophies.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Exemplar

Raised your party’s average level above 50.

This trophy is a time investment and involves leveling up your party as you progress through the game. The average level has to be at fifty not everyone, so there is some wiggle room. The Embroidered Tippet is an equippable accessory that you can use to boost your XP gain.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Conqueror

Earned 48,000 License Points.

You earn LP the same way you do XP so this is all about leveling. There are some tricks here. Taking advantage of the new speed mode helps quicken your progress. Find an area full of underpowered enemies and set your party gambits on as mindless an auto combat you can so they quickly dispose of them. Another method is to find and equip the Golden Amulet which doubles LP gain for the wearer. You can get it from Ogir-Yensa Sandsea (Platform 1, Refinery), Feywood (White Magick’s Embrace), and Pharos – Subterra (Penumbra – South) or it can be purchased from the Bazaar from the Gilt Phylactery set.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Scrivener

Completed the Bestiary.

This trophy will be one of the last trophies you earn because of the rare monster spawns. If you’re missing some of the monsters in the bestiary, you can take advantage of the new Trial mode to fill them out.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Runeweaver

Learned every Magick.

To unlock this trophy you will have to learn every Magick on the license boards, which can take some time or multiple playthroughs. Following the tips for earning levels and license points trophies will help you more quickly unlock these.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Jack-of-All-Trades

Learned every Technick.

To unlock this trophy you will have to learn every Technick on the license boards, which can take some time or multiple playthroughs. Following the tips for earning levels and license points trophies will help you more quickly unlock these.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Collector

Obtained a Morbid Urn.

This is a rare item that can be found at the item bazaar. The bazaar can be tricky for players. To craft items in the bazaar, you have to sell combinations of items to any store. When enough of the required items for a recipe are sold to a vendor, that new bazaar item will become available to purchase at any store. You don’t have to sell the loot at the same time; the game will track what you’ve sold it and auto trigger the items. The morbid urn requires: Horakhty’s Flame 1x, Phobos Glaze 1x and Deimos Clay 1x. It costs 250,000 gil and once unlocked it is given as the Canopic Jar which is a key item that causes enemies to potentially drop Arcana.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Cartographer

Fully explored every map.

This one is a bit tricky but it can be completed. You have to enter every zone on the map. You do not have to light up the entire map. The final dungeon Bahamut and Great Crystal don’t count. You must complete the sandlewood chop sidequest in Archades to get to the arcade. You also have to complete the optional Subterra of Pharos.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Trophy Guide Mist Walker

Performed every Concurrence.

A Concurrence is a finishing attack that triggers after you perform a certain number of quickenings. These are the 8 Concurrence attacks and how many and what level quickenings that trigger them:
