Fallout 4 Upcoming Patch Notes Detailed

Bethesda has released the details for the first upcoming patch to sales record breaker Fallout 4, titled Update 1.2.33. In it are several expected tweaks to gameplay as well as a few bug fixes for several quests. The beta patch is now available for PC users who have opted in to beta updates. There is no concrete date for the final and console version but we anticipate it shortly. Here are the patch notes:

New Features

  • Number pad keys can now be used for remapping
  • Remapping Activate now works on Quick Container

Fixes

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Fixed issue where equipped weapons become locked after completing Reunions
  • Fixed issue with When Freedom Calls where the quest would not complete
  • During Confidence Man, fixed issue where player’s health would continuously regenerate
  • Fixed crash related to jumping into water and reloading saved games
  • Fixed issue where Launcher would not save God Rays Quality setting properly

If you’re on PC, using Steam and would like to get the beta update, here’s a “how-to” on opting in to the beta program, as per Steam:

It’s nice to see a fix for When Freedom Calls, as that one comes first thing for the Minutemen quests, and subsequently opens up the Settlements component of the game. Not being able to complete that (without use of console commands) would be problematic to say the least. The rest of the patch is light on the notes, however, prior to release, Bethesda stated a desire to release frequent smaller updates as opposed to periodic and massive ones. This first update seems to be a step in that direction, with the game now in our hands for 2 weeks.

In a game featuring over 400 hours of content there was bound to be quite a few bugs that needed squashing. A glance through the Quests on the wiki shows a few issues, and it seems as if Bethesda is responding accordingly.
