Fallout 4 Far Harbor Now Available

Fallout 4 Far Harbor Now Available

Bethesda’s immensely popular Fallout 4 has its first major expansion, as Far Harbor is available today for PS4, Xbox One and PC. This expansion is the largest of the DLC packs to this point and is comparable in size to the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion.

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

The only prerequisite for accessing this DLC is to complete the Quest Getting a Clue, You will accept a missing persons case from Ellie which will trigger Far From Home, the first of the Far Harbor Quests. You may consider bringing Nick Valentine along for the ride, as his unique connection to the case presents some interesting dialogue options.

As expected there is a bevy of new content to explore. There are more than 20 new Locations on The Island, including the featured town Far Harbor. People in search of new gear will not be disappointed as some special unique weapons have been added, such as the powerful Admiral’s Friend, which is a unique version of the new Harpoon Gun and some new melee options such as The Fish Catcher, which should give gun nuts a reason to try something a little more up close and personal.

The compelling new story line brings a brand new atmosphere to the setting of Fallout 4 and should give fans of the franchise a reason to take to the high seas. Will you be playing it this weekend? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

I can’t wait to get home from work so I can play. I’ve been longing for something like this for Fallout 4 for months now. I hope it’ll be as good as it seems.

I honestly cannot tell if you are being facetious or not. That’s one of the things I hate about communicating through a text-based medium. Either way, I’ve only put a few hours into the DLC so far, and I gotta say, I’m loving it so far. The overall atmosphere and setting of Far Harbor is just such a refreshing change from the increasingly trite nuclear wasteland. It gives me a horror movie vibe, for want of a better word. And since I play on Survival difficulty using no HUD, that effect seems amplified. Anyway, far as I can tell, the DLC was definitely worth the $25.
