    Awesome, thank you Fex!

Woot! new stuff, it looks amazing. Can’t wait to see how i would take down those new enemies and see other people strategies. Although i haven’t finished Dark Souls yet, i want to play Drk2!

  3. Emergence says:

Looking good. If feels fresh but familiar. It’s making the transition to the new engine quite nicely.

  4. Halicarnassis says:

Ohmygod that was awesome! Where did you get that footage?

  5. ManatuBear says:

    I want it so badly… ;(

  6. skarekrow13 says:

Awesome. I like how much it shows without really showing anything. Plus having someone from Shaun of the Dead doing voice acting is a plus (they posted who does Pate’s voice on Facebook).

  7. RANT says:

A mummy with a scythe, awesome.

  8. Nightmare Moon says:

6 weeks sure is going to feel a lot longer than it should. Release can’t arrive too soon 🙂

  9. Thiago-Augusto says:

    You have a beautiful voice.
More videos with your voice Fex!

He should have killed that archer lol

    1. Fexelea says:

      Totally should have lol

I think you misunderstood the guy’s motivations. You see, the game had him so stressed out at that point that it was leading to very real health problems. It was with that in mind that he decided to see Drangleic’s leading acupuncturist. He didn’t die from an arrow, those were needles and the death was the result of a coincidental simultaneous heart attack. Poor fella

ok, ok…..maybe he should have killed that archer

Archurpuncture is a well practiced art in Drangleic.

Who was it that was playing exactly?

The Toolset that you will get is not some cut down, hobbled or
restricted version it is essentially the very same tool that BioWare
used to create DA:O. A different light mapping solution has been
    implemented
since most people can’t afford to install a render farm in
    their basement.

    So it is cut down?

And the lighting in DA is already terrible… how terrible is this new lightmapper going to be? Will there be ambient occlusion etc (those thick black lines around the edges of everything)?

  13. Anonymous says:

    Are you high?

It’s not about rendering capabilities. It’s about how lighting is defined in an area. Youre going to be adding and modifying lights with a different method than the developers did, and it’s not a “cut down” it’s an “addition” to the toolset.

  14. Anonymous says:

Really? That’s not what I’m reading in the OP. How do you explain the “since most people can’t afford to install a render farm in their basement”-part (which suggests a cut-down or simplified method)? And “light mapping solution” definitely seems to point to a tool to create pre-baked light maps — meaning pre-rendered.

Ah, what do I care, I probably won’t be even making maps … :)

  15. Anonymous says:

They’re saying the lightmapping wasnt even done in the toolset to begin with, and lightmapping has nothing to do with wither or not the scene will be rendered with ambient occlusion. It doesnt suggest anything is cut down or simplified.

It’s like saying since most people dont have a mo-cap studio we’re going to implement an alternate animation rigging method into the toolset.

Light maps “are” pre-rendered. Ambient occlusion is not, it’s unrelated.
