    Winged Spear!?

Barring the Corvian Scythe and Grub/Anri’s, these were all huge surprises for me. I mean, seriously. Winged Spear. What the fuck.

    Man-Grubs Staff 118.3
    Anri’s 91.6
    Hollow Corvian Scythe 40.8
    Hollow Winged Spear 40.8
    Hollow Murakumo 39.4
    Hollow Carthus Greatsword 39.4
    Hollow Astora Greatsword 38.1
    Hollow Lothric Sword 38.1

I don’t know what the scaling factor is towards Bleed/Poison aux, but it is definitely not universal, and different per weapon.
I’ll scrounge around the spreadsheet tables to see if I can find it. It just isn’t in a nicely formatted place to look at.

  3. Speaking of the hollow infusion and the nerf it received, does anyone know if 60 luck now is a good cap to good for for hollow weapons or do the heavily diminishing returns still start after 40?

Out of curiosity, what are the five highest Luck scaling factors excluding Anri’s? Is it related to weapons that have natural status effects? If so, then which ones without natural bleed/poison have the highest Luck scaling?

  5. Looks like they heard the complaints of people about nerfing the Spears of the Church covenant when summoned as a boss vs. ganks. Increased absorption & stamina recovery and decreased cooldown time for the spear fragments specifically when fighting 2 or more people. That’s good. But as usual that will depend on how significant the actual numbers are when the patch comes rolling around.

If they’re going to reduce the SSS’s strength and dex scaling (assuming that’s what they’re talking about?) they should bump its faith scaling a tad. At +5 IIRC it was still B scaling. A lower-end C/C scaling with higher-end B or D/D with A faith scaling, I wouldn’t mind.

Any word if they are officially done with the Undead Arena? Or is there a possibility of more maps on the horizon? Here’s where I think they should somehow create a custom map maker for players to put together their own maps to put out online or for friends/password groups. It would be very feasible to do for the Steam version, I don’t know about the console versions. One small gesture for the community to allow them at last to exercise some in-game creativity of their own before sealing off the series for good.

The Angels remain the way they are it seems. When I got to playing the game after they nerfed them the change I saw was that the damage their lasers did was about the same, just the number of lasers fired decreased significantly and their tracking much worse. As a compromise, maybe they could make the Angel’s individual lasers do much more damage while still keeping the number of shots fired and the tracking as it is now. Seeing how they seem to be reverting the over-nerfing they did to Spears of the Church someone should request this (how best to get through to make suggestions? I know there’s a thread on the DkS3 subreddit for suggestions I think that Kimmundi answers to sometimes but suggestions can get lost in the clutter). Depending on how they go with this if they ever did they could make the Angels an actual threat again, just in a different way.

  6. Sunlight SS has 46.4/46.4/69.6 scaling factors. Nerf should still be great for non meta SL pure faith buff. Will just lose its potency in over inflated SL builds.

Astora’s – Hollow, it’s Luck scaling factor is a mere 19.0. Including this weapon, there are a lot of weapons that have really poor bleed/poison/hollow luck scaling. Since they nerfed this weapons Raw form, I’m guessing they wanted to fill the gap until acquiring Anri’s with something other than Bandit Knife.

Decreased stamina consumption for Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords attack and increased attack power of Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords.
    What? Wasn’t this a 1-shotting problem?

Increased attack power and decreased stamina consumption for Farron Greatsword
Couple of other boss weapons could maybe use this treatment.

Increased bleeding attack power for Bloodlust skill attached to Bloodlust.
OK, and IMO Chaos Blade bleed power is way too low.

  7. I’m so glad they are fixing some of the major problems in pvp right now! RKPG were way too strong with their tracking, projected heal was way too powerful, and it looks like they are making Ledo’s skill actually worth while! Though… I can’t say I like the move cancels. We’ll see how this balances, but they are mostly welcome changes to me. :00020: :00020:

  8. Wait, there’s more? It’s pretty cool that they’re still trying to find a good balance for everything here rather than just moving completely onto the next game.

Soo… increased the Luck scaling for Astora Straight Sword (relative to bleed, poison, and hollow), and decreased the Str/Dex scaling for Sunlight Straight Sword. By how much, I wonder? Is ASS going to be like a hobo Anri’s sword? Will Sunlight be a straight Faith weapon? I can see the former being nice since you can’t get Anri’s until way later without screwing up the Yuria questline, and the latter being nice because it makes Solaire cosplays a heck of a lot easier.

  9. To break the meta, or not break the meta? That is the question.
